Metro Atlanta seafood lovers can start reeling in a new place for fresh fish.

Lapeer Seafood Market is now open at 12 North Broad St. in the mixed-used development Alpharetta City Center. The restaurant was developed by co-owner Louis Soon and culinary director Andy Long of Maven Restaurant Group, which includes Alpharetta eateries South Main Kitchen and Butcher & Brew.

Lapeer “draws inspiration in both menu and aesthetic from the relaxed beach towns along the East Coast,” according to a press release.

The “hyper-seasonal” food menu features fresh fish delivered daily, including East Coast and Gulf oysters, wild-caught fish and shrimp from along the Gulf of Mexico, crab meat from Bayou la Batre and tuna from Louisiana. Look for a raw bar as well as shareable family-style plates, a seafood tower and more. Produce and herbs will be sourced from local businesses such as Levity Farms, Tucker Farm and AJ Stonehaven Farms. The restaurant also sources salts from different regions and throughout the U.S.

Several existing members of the Maven Restaurant Group team run the food and beverage program at Lapeer. Blake Hartley, who serves as sous chef at South Main Kitchen, serves as Lapeer’s executive chef. He previously worked at several restaurants in Alabama and joined Maven Restaurant Group in 2017.

Cody Brown, beverage director at South Main Kitchen, runs the cocktail program and Mezcal bar, Elise Vitale, who works as pastry chef at Butcher & Brew and South Main Kitchen oversees the dessert menu, Soon oversees the wine program and Long will continue to serve as culinary director for all Maven concepts.

In addition to Lapeer, Butcher & Brew and South Main Kitchen, Maven is set to open Handlebar in Alpharetta and Butcher & Brew 2 and Tocayo in Forsyth County.

The 3,000 square-foot restaurant is designed by Curious Yellow Design and features 15-foot ceilings, white and matte green tile, white slat walls and brass finishes. A greenhouse-inspired, 840 square-foot outdoor patio overlooks a courtyard in City Center and an outdoor patio will be temperature-controlled and fully enclosed with glass.

Lapeer is open daily for dinner with lunch and weekend brunch to follow. It joins several other recently-opened concepts at Alpharetta City Center including Restaurant Holmes, Citizen Soul, Chiringa, Shade Street Food and Bar and Vitality Bowls. Several concepts are still set to open in the development including Never Enough Thyme, Jinya Ramen Bar, Highland Bakery, Central City Tavern and Botiwalla.
