A study for a concept of a free standing restaurant building within a larger mixed use project. As there was no specific tenant, we were asked to just come up with an idea for a building that would be an interesting accent piece to a new waterfront development. Our idea was to take a more “traditional” building form, add a roof deck to it and then treat it with design inspiration from an early 1900’s ocean liner. Black brick with white and beige stucco accents, metal canopies with guy wire supports, ships railing around the deck and wood accents all give the building a very nautical feel without it feeling too stylized and tacky.
