Mixed-use meets silos near historic downtown Chamblee? That’s the big idea.

After sitting empty for a while, the former Manna Pro feed mill at the corner of New Peachtree and Chamblee-Dunwoody roads could host the ITP city’s entry into the food hall zeitgeist.

As first reported by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, this latest proposed development comes from Stein Investment Group, veterans of intown projects such as Westside Ironworks who recently filed plans with the City of Chamblee for the more than 54,000-square-foot mixed-use idea.

Sitting on 3.28 acres at 5466 New Peachtree Road, the adaptive-reuse attraction would call for a food hall, full-service restaurants, entertainment venues, office space, and a rooftop patio with unobstructed views of Chamblee and Atlanta.

Renderings by architecture firm Place Maker Design indicate the original feed mill silos would be repurposed and incorporated into the property’s transition.

In addition, the plans state the overall design will retain much of the existing metal and concrete buildings to pay homage to its industrial roots.

With the elevated MARTA rail and Norfolk-Southern line next to the property, and the new Village Park across the street, this proposal is close to the Chamblee Town Center redevelopment.

It’s another possible addition to recent development activity in Chamblee’s postindustrial core, such as the forthcoming The Gordon condo project and the city’s first distillery.
